The Saints Pub
Friendly Southampton local with kids' menu, high chairs and free parking — come for the Sunday roast, avoid loud live-music nights.

Pub · Southampton

Sunday-lunch scale without the Sunday-lunch stress — the carvery here comes in portions that regularly defeat grown adults, and it's under £15, so a family meal doesn't wipe out the week. There's a play area, which buys you the ten minutes you need to actually finish a plate, plus a kids' menu and hot dogs that go down well with smaller eaters. Buggies get in easily, the car park is big and free, and the loos are clean. Breakfast is the sleeper hit: a well-stocked buffet with Yorkshire puddings on it, of all things. The cakes are enormous — one visitor reckoned they were "the size of a small dog". It's busy, and Saturdays fill fast, so book. Carvery quality can wobble on a quiet shift, but the staff are quick and genuinely warm.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
