Cafés · Alderley Edge
Right on the high street, this is the kind of spot where mums and baby groups sit alongside locals and business types without anyone getting side-eye. The terrace out front effectively doubles the seating in good weather, which helps enormously with prams, and a table is usually available even at busy times. Food comes out fast — one visitor with a packed room had theirs inside 10-15 minutes, which matters when a toddler has hit the wall. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and the toilets are kept clean. The full English and the steak baguette with fries both get raved about, coffee is a cut above with plenty of milk alternatives, and portions punch above the price. Staff are chatty and patient. It does get packed, and the terrace is the calmer option.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
