Deceptively small from the street — inside it opens out into a relaxed cafe-bar front, a big room at the back, and a garden with plenty of tables, so there's genuinely space for a pram and a family that needs elbow room. Booking matters; it fills up, especially at weekends, and sometimes there's a live musician adding to the buzz. Orders are taken quickly and the team is warm and attentive, which helps when someone's patience is running out. The pizzas come out large with generous toppings, portions are healthy across the board (one visitor called it "maybe a tad too much"), and the vegan menu is unusually well stocked — the linguine capperi and the vegan brownie with ice cream both land well. Tiramisu is good rather than remarkable. Free parking, high chairs and a kids' menu round it out.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
