Sitting quietly on the edge of Sennybridge with hills all around, this is a proper pub — real ales, comfy corners — that also feeds families well. The beer garden is the draw with children in tow: outdoor seating, views over the hills, and room to let them wander while you finish a drink. Free parking, buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all sorted, and there are vegan options. Sunday lunch gets particular praise — roast beef, lamb, chicken and a nut roast that holds its own — and the steak and ale pie comes generous and genuinely tender. Breakfasts have a following of their own. Staff are warm and attentive without hovering, and dogs are welcome too. Worth booking for Sunday, and be aware there's the odd bit of road traffic outside.
