A proper Welsh breakfast on the seafront at Mumbles, done without fuss and priced so you won't wince when four of you order. The full cooked plates come out fast and very hot — juicy sausages, eggs done right, laverbread if you fancy the traditional thing — which matters enormously when someone small has hit the wall. It's a small caff but the seating is roomy enough for a pram, bright, airy and clean, with high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking nearby. All-day breakfast means late risers are fine too. Portions are generous; the cheese on toast defeats most adults. Weekends get genuinely busy and service slows when it does, so go early if you can. No dogs. One regular calls it "my go-to breakfast" after thirty years.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
