Tucked down an alley behind TK Maxx, this three-floor theatre bar is easy to walk past and worth finding. It's laid back rather than polished — comedy-club decor, funky music, barrel booths on the first floor that children tend to love — and you pick your own table before ordering at the bar, which suits families who need to settle everyone first. Staff go out of their way: one group of nine with a baby had bottles and food warmed without asking twice. Baby changing is on the ground floor and the toilets are clean, there are high chairs and a kids' menu, and the terrace is lovely in sun. Steak and Sunday roast draw praise, though roast portions can be light on potatoes, and it's pricier than nearby Cambridge pubs. Ordering is by QR code, which doesn't always cooperate.
