Cafés · Windsor
Tucked just off Eton high street, this is a play café built around toddlers and babies rather than squeezed in around them — several small play zones, gorgeous wooden toys of the Lovevery and Melissa & Doug sort, and a layout that sparks imagination without tipping into overstimulation. Parents can see their children the whole time while the little ones roam freely, which is the difference between finishing a conversation and not. Buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating are all sorted, and it's kept immaculately clean. There's a colouring room at the back — a calm bolt-hole when a three-year-old needs space from the toddlers, and where birthday parties happen. The owners are warmly hands-on, often settling children in themselves; the coffee is good and the pizzas get real praise. Sessions are bookable online, which is worth doing at busy times.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
