Cafés · Barnsley
A tiny Barnsley spot that opens out further than it looks — there are a few seats just inside, then a corridor through to a roomier back room with more tables, which is where you'll want to be with a pram and a toddler. Outdoor seating too, free parking, high chairs and a kids' menu, so the logistics are easy. The food is proper café cooking: sausage and bacon sandwiches people rave about, home-cooked chips, a good quiche, a full breakfast, and a counter of cakes worth a detour. Staff are cheery and patient even when they're rushed off their feet, and it's warm and clean inside. Prices are low, though one or two have grumbled about extras being charged separately. Takeaway is available, but delivery orders have gone astray — go in person.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
