Cafés · Lincoln
Tucked into the middle of Metheringham, this is a café and craft shop rolled into one, which turns out to be very handy when you've got children waiting on food — the walls are lined with handmade gifts and cards and quirky bits and bobs to browse. The mood is cosy and unhurried rather than bustling, and it's genuinely quiet on a Sunday morning, so a pram won't be in anyone's way. The staff are helpful and quick. Sausage rolls come well seasoned and the pasties are properly done, the homemade soup gets people driving back, and the brownies are a decent size. Prices are gentle — a spread of food and drinks came to about £10. Worth knowing: sandwiches can be on the plain side, and gluten-free or vegan options are shop-bought packets rather than homemade. Kids' menu, high chairs, free parking.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
