Handy for a warm sit-down lunch in Birmingham when you're tired of cold sandwiches, this place is roomier than most curry houses in the area — spacious with plain, simple decor, so there's space to park a pram without apologising to anyone. High chairs are there, a kids' menu keeps fussier eaters happy, and everything is halal. Staff are generally warm and accommodating, though it's worth saying not everyone finds them so. Thalis come loaded — chicken curry, palak paneer, fresh yoghurt, chutney and soft rotis — and the lamb curry is mild enough for children who don't want heat. Samosa chaat and papdi chat are fresh and good for sharing, the mango lassi is properly cold, and one visitor rates the tea as the highlight: a big cup, really good. Prices are low, portions honest. Food travels well and stays piping hot if you'd rather take it home.
