Café · Buxton
A well-known Peak District stop just outside Buxton, this is a proper café rather than anything fussy — sausage rolls and cakes made in-house, coffee that people mention again and again, and a big breakfast that arrives enormous enough to share between two. There's free parking, though the car park is gravel and the one round the back has a height restriction, so campervans and bigger vehicles are better at the front. High chairs, a kids' menu and vegan options are all there, plus outdoor tables for warmer days. Staff come in for particular praise for being friendly and quick even when it's packed. Two honest notes: it's not the cheapest breakfast around, and the toilets are dated. Dogs stay outside.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
