Cafés · Stourport-on-Severn
Tucked a stone's throw from the Severn and its walking routes, this is an easy stop after a morning of pram-pushing along the locks — there's free parking, buggy access and outdoor tables where dogs get a biscuit (sometimes a sausage) from the kitchen. The food is homemade and the portions generous: double-fried chips, beef with horseradish mash, poached eggs arriving on a preheated plate, and a full English made with proper ingredients. Coffee is a cut above the usual café stuff. Staff are notably patient and quick — one family with a hungry five-year-old was fed fast — and there's a kids' menu and high chairs. Free cake has been known to appear on the way out. Two snags: food can take a while at busy times, and the parking outside isn't theirs, so read the signs.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
