Cafés · Hope Valley
Tucked into a garden centre off the main road in Hope Valley, this is the kind of stop that turns a quick coffee into a full lunch. It's small, warm and genuinely cosy — a wood-burner going, spotless throughout, and toilets clean enough that people mention them. Buggy access, high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking outside make the logistics easy, and there's outdoor seating for warmer days. Breakfasts are enormous and cheap for what you get, the black pudding has a following, and the cakes — carrot, almond Bakewell — are worth taking home. Gluten-free and vegan eaters are properly looked after; one family found "lots of choices". Worth knowing: service can slow right down when it's busy, the counter welcome varies, and the wood stove can bother anyone asthmatic.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
