The Dawyck Botanic Garden Cafe
A relaxed Peebles cafe with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating — an easy stop with little ones in tow.

Coffee Shops · Biggar
Tucked behind a building site on the edge of Biggar, this is the sort of stop that makes a long drive worth breaking. The huge grassy outdoor area is the real draw for families — toddlers can toddle about in the grass, older ones kick a football and burn off energy before getting back in the car, and there's plenty of space for a buggy. Food is fresh and generous: soup that arrives properly hot with neatly cut sandwiches, tuna rolls stuffed on soft bread, light quiche, and scones and ginger shortbread people go back for. Kids' menu, high chairs and free parking, and the team stay friendly even at their busiest. Worth knowing it gets busy, and food can take 20–30 minutes then, so order before anyone's hungry. Dogs welcome too.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
