Vegetarian · Eye
Finding a whole pub given over to vegetarian and vegan cooking is rare enough, and this one does it in a genuinely lovely old building — cosy, softly lit, traditional pub feel with room to settle in without feeling squashed. Portions are generous, gluten-free options are plentiful, and children who aren't remotely vegan tend to do fine: one family reported their seven-year-old happily working through the starters. The nachos and the mac & cheese come up again and again. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, plus a sunny garden for vegan ice creams and a little gift shop with snacks to take home. Service is usually warm and unhurried, though it can slow noticeably when it's busy, so allow time on a Saturday night.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
