The Eastfield Arms
A budget-friendly Barnsley pub with a kids' menu, vegan options and outdoor seating for an easy family meal.

Brunch · Barnsley
Perched on the edge of Mapplewell with a long view back over Barnsley, this is the sort of hidden-gem café you tell people about afterwards. The setting does a lot of the work — big skies, greenery, somewhere calm to sit while the children run out some energy at an outdoor table. Inside it's spotless and warm, with high chairs, a kids' menu and free parking, and buggies get in without a fight. Breakfast is the strong suit: a proper full English with good sausages, breakfast bagels, unlimited tea and coffee, and kids' waffles with fresh fruit. Prices are gentle for what you get, and the staff are consistently kind. Two honest snags — the coffee divides opinion, and the kitchen can run short or close earlier than you'd expect, so go hungry and go early. One family called it simply "a hidden gem".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
