Gastropub · Stoke-on-Trent
Set in a characterful old building with cosy interiors, this Stoke-on-Trent pub does the country-pub thing properly — and it's set up for families, with a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access, outdoor seating and free parking. Food is home-cooked and portions are generous: the pie night specials, the beef lasagne, chicken in leek and Stilton sauce and the lamb chops all get singled out, and the cheesecake is worth leaving room for. Service is quick even when it's packed — one family waited barely fifteen minutes with fifty-odd people eating — and the staff are genuinely patient, sorting out any hiccup with good grace. Two honest snags: it's pricier than a standard chain, and some tables are small enough to feel cramped. Monday pie night gets busy, so book if you can.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
