Tucked into countryside just outside Milngavie, this is a rambling old farmhouse of a pub — nooks, crannies, real fires in winter and separate dining areas, so a table with a toddler doesn't feel like it's on display. There's loads of free parking, buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu, and the outdoor seating comes in for real praise on sunny days: plenty of room to spread out, and it's dog-friendly too. Food is honest pub cooking — the ham hock pie, hunter's chicken schnitzel and fish and chips get the most love, and portions are generous enough that the mini dessert-and-coffee deal is the sensible finish. Allergies are handled with genuine care; one family with coeliac disease called the attention to detail "second to none". Worth booking, and service can slow noticeably when the kitchen is under pressure.
