The Milton Arms
A friendly, well-rated Barnsley pub with outdoor seating, offering an easy-going spot for a family drink or meal.

Cafés · Barnsley
A handy stop after a wander round Elsecar park or the heritage centre, this is a small, cosy café where the staff chat to everyone and dogs get their own sausages and puppachinos. High chairs are there, prams get in easily and parking is free, so the whole trip is low-effort. The food is the draw: proper twice-cooked chips people rave about, cheese toasties, tuna paninis, chip butties, good cake including gluten-free, and genuinely excellent coffee — all cheap and generously portioned. Worth knowing that food can be slow, especially at busy half-term lunchtimes, and one family waited 45 minutes for lukewarm paninis, so order early rather than at the point of meltdown. Outdoor tables mean noise is never much of a problem, and regulars call it "great people, good value".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
