Sitting right on the wharf, this little tearoom trades on its setting — tables outside by the water where a pram can sit beside you and children can watch the boats go past, which buys you a surprisingly long, calm lunch. Inside is pretty but snug, so the outdoor seating is the easier bet with a buggy. High chairs are there, a kids' menu and vegan options too, and the staff are genuinely accommodating — happy to tweak an order, quick with extras, warm without hovering. The cakes are what people come back for, alongside eggs benedict and properly good coffee, all served on real china. Portions are generous without being heavy. Worth knowing: afternoon tea and cream teas are priced firmly, and one parent found £9.50 for a pot of tea and a single scone a stretch.
