Restaurant · Stroud
Tucked away behind an arch, slightly off Stroud's main shopping street, this is a vegetarian cafe that rewards the small detour with a pram. There's a lot more room than the frontage suggests — seating spread across a raised platform, ground-level tables inside and a nicely arranged outdoor area, so you can pick your spot depending on how loud your lot are being. Food comes out fast when it needs to: shakshuka with olive sourdough landed in under ten minutes. The donburi bowl with light, crispy tempura vegetables gets talked about, as do the cakes and the Vietnamese baguette, and vegan and gluten-free versions are usually available on request. Swaps like avocado for mushrooms are made without fuss or extra charge. Not cheap, and it's lunchtime only — evening Thali nights are the exception.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
