Tucked away on the edge of Pebmarsh, on the back of a working farm, this is the sort of rural spot that rewards booking ahead — big family tables get looked after properly, and one group of eleven with five young children were welcomed without a flicker of hesitation. The beer garden has a sandpit, which buys you a good half hour after pudding. Sunday roasts get the loudest praise, alongside beef brisket with peppercorn sauce, sirloin steak, the burger and a salad bar full of homemade dishes. Service is unhurried but well paced, so food doesn't arrive too slow or too rushed. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, plus a little shop selling local produce. Portions are generous — one family admitted they had "no room left for dessert".
