A big outdoor area is the draw for families here — seating, a play area and a proper playing field, so children can run about and kick a ball while the adults finish a drink. Inside is comfortable enough with high chairs and buggy access, though one family found the building chilly and ate with their coats on. The kitchen is genuinely good: Sunday roasts get real praise (the "greedy man" version comes with every meat and a generous pile of sides), as do the pork belly with mash and black pudding, plump mussels, and sourdough baguettes with salad and chips. Portions run large, gluten-free choices are decent, and the team will happily adjust a dish. It's not cheap for a pub, but Tuesday's two burger meals for £25 softens that. Parking is free.
