Tucked away on North Castle Street in the New Town, this is a proper Spanish grill that happens to welcome children — there's a kids' menu, high chairs and step-free access for a pram, though the room fills up and buzzes from early evening, so book if you want a calm table. The staff are attentive without hovering, and quick to sort you out when it's busy. Galician beef is the thing to order, along with the presa ibérico, which arrives beautifully charred with sides included, and the short rib that falls apart. Even the bread matters here — crusty sourdough and good olive oil. Chocolate crema catalana is worth the extra course. It's not cheap and it's not really a high-chair-and-chips kind of place, but one diner called the Galician fillet the finest steak they'd ever eaten.
