Queens Vaults - JW Bassett Pub
Roomy Cardiff pub with pool, darts, kids' menu and generous, well-priced food — busy on rugby days and the music runs loud.

Modern European · Cardiff
Set inside a hotel dining room that feels properly smart — modern, spotless, a bit of a treat — this is more of a special-occasion lunch than a Tuesday-night dash, and worth knowing that before you book. There's room to get a pram in, high chairs are available, there's a kids' menu, and outdoor seating helps if someone needs air. The staff are attentive and warm without hovering, which matters when you're eating slowly around a toddler. The beef wellington comes up again and again, along with the duck three ways and afternoon tea with scones straight from the oven. Portions are judged well rather than enormous. Be aware the menu is fairly short, drinks add up quickly, and three courses here runs to around £50 a head, so it's a considered outing rather than a casual one.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
