Once you're in, the welcome is genuinely warm: high chairs come out without fuss, and the owners have been known to bring toys over for a baby. The menu is unusually wide for a pub — panuozzo, seafood boil, pizza, pies, the viral sandos (not served Sundays), and a Sunday roast that gets people driving back, thick slices of melt-in-the-mouth beef, plenty of veg and an extra jug of gravy brought over unasked. Free parking helps, buggy access is fine, and there's outdoor seating. It's pricier than a chain — a couple of sandwiches, fries and drinks can hit £50 — and food can be slow when it's busy, but portions defeat most people.
