Perched above the water with a proper view over the beach and bay, this is the kind of stop that works when you've got a car full of tired children and nobody can face a sit-down meal. The car park is large and free, with wide spaces — genuinely useful if you're wrestling a pram out of the boot, and there's room for a camper too. Most of the seating is outside under a balcony, so it's airy rather than cramped, though there's only a handful of tables inside if the weather turns. Food comes out fast: jacket potatoes are the thing here, enormous and much raved about, plus rolls, baguettes, fish and chips, ice cream and good coffee. Dairy-free options are usually available. Prices are reasonable. One quiet snag — it can get busy, with staff stretched between inside and out.
