Steak house · Nottingham

Steak dinners and small children don't always mix, but this Sherwood Forest branch of Miller & Carter seems to manage it — one family of four adults and four children found everything ran smoothly, on tables spaced out enough that nobody felt hemmed in, in a room they described as spotless and roomy. The staff give you time to decide rather than hovering, which matters when someone is still choosing. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, step-free access for a pram, and free parking outside. The 16oz ribeye and the butcher's block get the most praise, and the sharing dessert is worth saving room for. Two honest snags: it's pricey, so many families come for birthdays or use the midweek deal, and weekend evenings get busy — book ahead.
