A proper community local in Nottingham, this one has grown into somewhere you can genuinely take the children during the day — kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, plus one of the better beer gardens in the city for when everyone needs to spill outside. There's decent room indoors and out, so a pram isn't a problem. The food has stepped well beyond standard pub fare since the kitchen refresh: the Sunday roast draws real praise for tender braised beef shin, properly crispy roast potatoes and huge homemade Yorkshires, and there's a good spread of veggie and vegan options. Portions are generous for the price. Worth knowing it's a lively spot with music and events, so weekends and evenings get loud and busy, and the staff can be stretched thin at peak times — daytimes are the calmer bet with small children.
