It is genuinely busy most of the day, so order from the table on the app and expect food to arrive fast: one family stopping in before a train got fed quickly, with polite explanations when the ice cream ran out. Breakfasts get the warmest praise, portions are decent and prices are very low — two breakfasts, a coffee and a pint for around £15. Worth knowing: table clearing can lag at peak times and food quality wobbles at the busiest hours, so early or mid-afternoon is the calmer bet. The art deco windows and open summer windows are a nice surprise inside.
