Best Western The Crianlarich Hotel
A traditional Victorian hotel in Crianlarich with a restaurant, snug pub, mountain views and free Wi-Fi for families.

Tucked into the Highland roadside at Tyndrum, this is the kind of stop that rescues a long drive or a wet day of walking. There's a big free car park right outside, so unloading a pram is no drama, and inside it's spotless and broken into different seating zones — helpful if you want a quieter corner away from the walkers piling in off the West Highland Way. Food arrives fast, which matters when someone's hit the wall. The haddock and chips is the thing to order: fresh, MSC-certified, crisp light batter and generous with it. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, veggie and vegan swaps done without fuss, and proper coeliac accreditation with a dedicated fryer. Benches out front for sunny days. It isn't cheap — one family paid over £46 for two fish suppers, two drinks and a tart — but the quality is genuinely there.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
