Tucked away from the main roads in Sheffield, this is the sort of proper local you'd walk past for years without noticing — and then wish you'd found sooner. It's an old-fashioned pub, a bit dated in the decor but clean and cosy with it, and there's plenty of seating inside plus a decent outdoor area for warmer days. The large games room, complete with a three-quarter-size snooker table, buys you a surprising amount of peace while the children entertain themselves. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, and the staff are genuinely warm — one visitor arrived mid-quiz and was welcomed straight in. Prices are reasonable, real ale and around 35 gins for the grown-ups. Worth knowing: live music and quiz nights make some evenings loud, and there's no obvious pub car park, so you'll likely be parking on the street.
