Not a shed at all, but a big converted farmyard barn on a garden centre site, with enough room across its different spaces that prams, older couples, dog walkers and large family groups all fit without anyone feeling squeezed. Buggy access is easy, there are high chairs and a kids' menu, and the free car park has no marked bays so you can park wide and unload in peace. Staff are quick, patient and genuinely warm with children — one family found the team cooing over their toddler and fetching extra gravy without being asked. Portions are generous and fairly priced for ££: the Thai haddock goujons, the scones and the ice cream stand with its unusual flavours all get raved about. There's garden seating by the river, and a petting zoo to walk off lunch. It's often busy and buzzy, so expect noise at weekends.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
