About The Post & Telegraph

A grand old 1920s building spread over two floors, with a curved balcony upstairs looking down over the main bar and big chandeliers overhead — the sort of interior that keeps children busy looking around. Tables are small and spaced out between pillars, so there's room to park a pram without blocking anyone, and if the ground floor looks packed, head upstairs where there's usually space. Bar staff are quick and friendly even when it's heaving, and food is cheap, hot and generous — the pulled beef brisket, wings and pizzas all get praise. High chairs, a kids' menu and level access at the door. Two honest snags: it's loud with music and chatter, and the toilets are upstairs, though there's an accessible one on the ground floor.
