The New Forge
A laid-back Norwich bar with a kids' menu, high chairs, outdoor seating, and vegan options — easy on the wallet at ££.

A good-sized car park out front takes the stress out of arriving with a full car, and the rooms inside are comfy and roomy enough that a pram isn't going to be a problem. It's the Sunday carvery that people come back for — beef served pink and full of flavour, and, unusually, vegetables that haven't been sitting in water since morning, so there's actually something a child will eat. Portions are generous and it's decent value for ££. The staff get consistent praise for being welcoming and attentive, and they've handled allergy requests carefully, which matters if you're ordering for a fussy or reactive child. There's a kids' menu and high chairs. One snag: it's genuinely awkward to reach without a car — doable by bus or on foot, but plan it.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
