Indoor Playground · Halifax
A converted mill on the edge of Halifax, this one solves the problem of what to do with a wide age range at once — sessions run up to age 11, so older siblings aren't stuck watching. There's a sensory room that families with autistic children particularly rate, a big trampoline, swings, a small under-twos corner and a games arcade included in the entrance fee, with no time limit on how long children play. Food is genuinely good and cheaply priced, from little-people lunches to fresh adult plates and hot, proper coffee, and they'll box up leftovers. Staff are smiley and helpful, and they run birthday parties where children make their own pizzas. Two snags: the car park is free but badly potholed, and the steps down to the mill get slippery in wet weather. One set of stairs to get up.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
