The homemade scones are the thing to order (fruit and walnut, blueberry and lemon, even savoury pizza-flavoured ones), alongside quiche of the day, a veggie burger with proper chips, and hearty cooked breakfasts. Staff and regulars alike give a genuinely warm welcome, and dogs are welcome too. Worth the short detour off the A69. One snag: no plant-based milk yet.
