Tucked between Helston and Marazion with a big free car park right outside, this roadside pub turns out to be a proper find for families — several rooms, so there's usually a quieter corner, and it stays warm and inviting even when it's heaving. There are games to keep children busy, a decent kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor tables that come into their own on a sunny afternoon. The pie gets talked about endlessly, the Sunday roast beef brisket even more so, and portions are generous for the price. Staff are patient and welcoming, and they'll happily take a booking by phone. One honest note: it gets very busy, and food can be slow at peak times — one family waited an hour with a hungry toddler. Book ahead and you'll likely sail through.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
