It's a pub at heart — lively, buzzing, dogs welcome inside — so it's more forgiving of a noisy toddler than a hushed dining room would be. Staff are quick, friendly and happy to tweak dishes for fussy eaters. The food genuinely over-delivers: local steak, the beef pie with its puff pastry lid, homemade burgers, hake, parmesan fries. Starters are big enough to sink your main.
