Set in a former mill just outside Stewarton, this is the kind of place families end up returning to for birthdays and Sunday lunches. The dining room is roomy and nicely done, with buggy access, high chairs and free parking, plus outdoor seating when the weather allows. Food gets consistent praise — the salmon and prawn gratin and the beef bourguignon come up again and again, arriving piping hot and beautifully presented. There's a kids' menu and vegan options, and staff are generally cheerful with children; one family found the team made a seventh birthday genuinely special. Two honest caveats: it isn't cheap (though one parent fed two adults and two children, three courses and drinks included, for around £72), and service can wobble when it's busy. It's popular, so book ahead.
