A well-loved family-friendly Bicester pub with outdoor seating and a 4.5-star rating, easygoing for a relaxed bite with the kids.

Cafés · Bicester
Just outside Oxford, this is a proper stop-and-stay spot rather than a grab-and-go — roomy enough to get a buggy in, with high chairs, outdoor tables and plenty of free parking, which takes the stress out of arriving. You order at the till after taking a seat, and food comes out fast even at the Saturday rush, which matters when someone's melting down. The scrambled eggs with roasted tomatoes get talked about endlessly, the club sandwiches are enormous (easily shareable between a grown-up and a child), and the homemade ice cream and cookies are the bit children remember. Plenty of veggie and vegan choices too. Two honest notes: it's not cheap, and it gets very busy and noisy from opening — one parent warns it's "super busy right from doors opening" — though the staff are unfailingly patient and you can usually squeeze in.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
