There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, and the staff stay warm and quick even when every table is full. The battered haddock with chunky chips and the prawn po boy get named again and again, portions are hearty and clearly homemade, and the summer berries trifle is worth leaving room for. Two honest snags: it can get very busy, and one family waited over an hour and a half for mains with a baby in tow. Book ahead, go early with small children, and check your bill — a discretionary service charge gets added.
