Relaxed central Cambridge spot with a lovely outdoor area, generous portions, a kids' menu and a well-priced three-course lunch.

Pub · Cambridge
Tucked in central Cambridge, this is a proper pub that happens to serve homemade Italian food, and the food is the surprise — gnocchi that arrives gigantic, chewy and stuffed with sausage under a deep red tomato sauce, rigatoni with a generous ragu, and a pesto pasta one visitor rated the finest they'd eaten (though the portion ran small). The building is big, with a roomy indoor bar and a large alfresco area with plenty of seats and heaters that keep it usable well past summer — handy with a buggy and a child who needs to wriggle. Toilets are clean, there are high chairs and a kids' menu, and the staff have a name for being quick and genuinely helpful, including finding vegan options. Sauces can lean salty. It's a beer destination too, so expect a lively grown-up crowd at busy times.
