Adam and Eve
Warm, unhurried Alnwick spot where the kids' menu is genuinely good, roasts shine, and staff make room for families.

Alnwick's market square puts everything within a short walk of the door, which helps when small legs are involved — and there's a free 24-hour car park at the bottom of the street on Pottersgate, plus free parking outside after 6pm, so it's worth being a little organised. Inside it's cosy and quirky rather than roomy, with low atmospheric lighting; the team are unfailingly warm, squeezing people in even when they're slammed, and drinks and food arrive quickly. Portions are generous, with smaller plates available for smaller appetites — the rib starter, braised beef, steaks, fish and chips and Sunday roast all get raved about. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options. Saturday lunchtimes are busy and the occasional dish misses the mark, so booking is sensible. One visitor found the staff "made us feel at home".
