Restaurants · Fowey
Perched above the quay in Fowey, this feels like a proper pub that happens to serve very good food — locals still drink at the bar, and the window tables look straight out over the water. Booking is worth doing because it fills up, especially in the evenings, and parking in summer means a few minutes' drive and a walk. The kitchen turns out generous plates: huge bowls of mussels with fresh bread and fries, oysters, three-course dinners people remember for months. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, plus outdoor seating when the weather plays along. Staff are unfailingly obliging — one group asked for drinks only on a night set for dining and had a table cleared for them without fuss. Dogs are welcome too. Prices sit fairly for the area, though one visitor found the online menu out of date.
