About The Jellyfish Cafe

Small, homely and run by a team of women who make everything fresh on site — which means a table here is worth phoning ahead for, especially with a pram in tow, because the room is compact and they'll happily hold one for you if you call. Service is quick and warm, food comes out to your table, and portions are big enough to share: jacket potatoes with generous fillings, proper ham salad rolls (real ham, not the plasticky stuff), bacon and egg rolls, lasagne, and a salad bar with enough options to build a wrap around. Under £20 covers a kids' meal, a bap and a jacket with drinks. Free parking, high chairs, and an outdoor seating area that's lovely in good weather. One snag worth knowing: there don't appear to be public toilets.
