A proper pub-with-rooms just outside Tewkesbury, and the Sunday carvery is the reason families keep coming back — huge portions, homemade puddings served with cream, and a vegetable selection locals swear is the finest in town. Children do well here: the sausage and chips comes generously sized with beans and ketchup, chips cooked properly at home, and the total bill lands lower than you'd expect. Staff are friendly and will squeeze you in at the last minute if they can, though booking is genuinely worth it at weekends. There's a quieter side room away from the busy main restaurant, useful if your youngest is having a moment. Outdoor seating, buggy access, high chairs and free parking all sorted. Service can wobble when it fills up, but one parent found it "excellent" even on the busiest day.
