A big roadside pub about 35 minutes' walk from Tenby through the woodland, with a large free car park that makes arriving with a car full of children painless. Inside it's roomy and smartly done — novelty swing-seat tables that children love, plus covered outdoor seating that catches the sun. The staff come up again and again as genuinely warm and accommodating; one group of eleven turned up and were sorted without fuss. Sunday roast is the standout, three meats and properly good beef, though the everyday menu is more standard pub fare. Sweet potato fries, babyback ribs and battered cod all get singled out, portions are generous and prices reasonable, even if drinks run dear. Two honest snags: the front toilets are tired, and tables aren't always wiped down properly. Worth booking for Sunday.
