About The Honey Café

Tucked underneath a church a few minutes' walk from the shops, this is a genuinely lovely spot for lunch with children — and far brighter and roomier than "cellar café" suggests, with space to park a buggy without blocking anyone. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and the owners are warm and unhurried, the sort who'll happily fuss over your table. Saturdays can be surprisingly quiet, so it's a good bet when you don't fancy a scrum. Expect quiche and soup of the day, cooked breakfasts, toasties, jacket potatoes and a bacon sandwich people rave about, plus cakes that regulars reckon are the finest in Bath — the millionaire's shortbread has a following. Prices are fair for the portions. Only a small amount of outdoor seating, and dogs are welcome too.
