Mango Thai Tapas - Portswood
Cosy Portswood Thai tapas with a huge menu, generous portions, kids' menu and high chairs — park down the hill and walk up.

Pub · Southampton
Sunny afternoons are the moment to bring children here — the outdoor space is enormous, far bigger than the small frontage suggests, with masses of seating, heaters, a covered pool table and, genuinely, a castle and a boat to clamber about on. The pizza shed at the bottom cooks fresh and is what people rave about most; it gets busy within minutes of opening, so expect a wait for food. The Tolkien-ish decor gives little ones plenty to look at. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, and prices are gentle. Two honest caveats: everyone is ID'd on the door regardless of age, and by evening it becomes a proper live-music pub — loud, packed and no place for children. Regulars call it "a great wee gem in Southampton".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
